"Sick" Health Care
America's dollar-driven health care system is terminal.
The problem?
Bottom line profits for this year must be greater than last year's.
This is especially true in the nation's hospital industry.
Consider the following:
Emergency Department
Severity - Minor
.2005 2013
Visits .654,751 425,942 35%
Average
Charge
Per Visit $449 $988 121%
Naturally, the above begs several obvious questions:
1) Why the decline in "Minor" ER visits?
2) How long can ER charges of this sort continue to skyrocket at a rate far greater than the rate of inflation?
Stay tuned.
